Up, Up, and Away...

It was really fun to be able to go to the balloon races this year. In the past, we have just watched them from our house. This year we decided to go see them up close. It was amazing!!! Now we are hooked and will have go every year.

Summer's Gone....

Wow, can't believe how fast the summer has gone by. Since I have not posted on the blog for such a long time, you can obviously tell that it has been a busy summer! It has been a good summer though. Cindy, Cade, Cael, and Maren, and Tamra and Hunter stayed with us part of the time this summer. It was so fun to have them here! After they all left we drove to Kansas to check out the girls' new homes. Kristin and Cindy live about five minutes away from each other. Also we stopped at Tamra's in Park City on the way. Reed had not seen their new home yet. I had to laugh and told Reed, okay.... after having kids here for a couple months.... where are we going? To see kids! What can we say.... we love our kids and grandkids and that's what's really important to us. We actually hadn't seen Kristin and family for quite some time. Anyway we had a good trip and it was nice to see the girls situated in their homes. On Oct. 3rd, we fly to Texas to see Scott and family. As always, we love having Lisa and Brian close, so that makes it nice to be able to see them often.

There Goes Another Rabbit.... or The Curse of the Were-Rabbit!

Well, we finally bought a trap for catching rabbits.  They are pretty cute but they can sure ruin the lawn!  They really made a mess of the front yard last year.  We have them locked out of the backyard but the front is a whole different story.  They like to come at night and munch on the tender grass.  This last week I have caught three rabbits!  After we catch them, we take them to the hills not far from our house and let them go.

On the Road Again...

On March 14th, I made a trip to Utah to help take care of Hunter while Tamra made a business trip to New York.  Since I was there, Barry was able to keep working on the remodel job at their new house.  It was fun to go to Park City and check out the progress he has made.  Can I just say.... Barry is doing an amazing job!!!  Check it out on Tamra's link.  It is going to be wonderful!  It was fun to be around Hunter.  He is sure growing up and is quite the little helper.

Kristin and Lincoln...

Kristin and Lincoln flew in to be in Provo when the packers and movers came to pack up their house.  Since I was already in Utah, I stayed a few extra days to see them and help out in any way that I could.  What a cutie Lincoln is!  We were so happy that they were able to sell their home!

Happy Birthday Relief Society...

Last Thursday we celebrated the organization of the Relief Society at our Enrichment Night. Since our enrichment leader was out of town, I was in charge.  We used "Sisterhood Around the World" as our theme.  We decided to work on humanitarian items that would be sent to our sisters around the world in need.  We tied three quilts, put together 35 hygiene kits, and made file folder games that will go into modules with other items to be sent to orphanages.  We had finger foods from around the world and birthday cake.  Everything was so good it was hard to pick a favorite... the stuffed grape leaves were at the top of the list though.  Behind the food tables, we had two tables with display items from around the world.  It was a fun evening and everyone seemed to have a good time.  There are over five and a half million Relief Society sisters in 170 countries around the world...... Happy Birthday Relief Society!  (organized March 17, 1842)

Happy Birthday Dad!

A couple weeks ago my dad turned 91 so I made a quick trip over to the bay area to spend a couple days with him.  We had a nice time visiting and catching up, then on Saturday we drove into San Francisco to the Academy of Sciences.

WAY TO GO MARCUS!!!

Congratulations to our 11 year old grandson Marcus!  He just earned his Black Belt (1st level)! Check out Scott's blog and you can see him in action.  Great job Marcus!!!
